This year marks a meaningful milestone for Gold of Mauritius as we introduced our first-ever Single Cask releases — a small-batch project we’ve been quietly working on for a long time.
The idea behind the collection is simple: every cask is unique, so each one becomes a limited edition of its own. Each bottle is individually numbered and hand-marked by a calligrapher with its cask number, vintage year, and ABV — a detail that adds a personal touch to every release.
We began the year with our Single Cask – Cognac Edition, distilled in 2017 and aged for eight years under tropical conditions. A single Cognac barrel shaped this rum’s warm, rounded profile and gentle 43% ABV, and only 472 bottles were produced.
This month, we unveiled our Single Cask – Whiskey Edition, also aged eight years but in a single ex-whiskey barrel. This second release brought a completely different personality, with notes of toasted grain, soft spice, and a more oak-forward character.
Both editions reflect the spirit of this new collection — small releases, unblended, each with its own story to tell.
